Summary
NovaCoil is a game app for Recoil-compatible toy blasters. It has no user accounts, shows no ads and contains no analytics or tracking. The developer receives no data from the app. Everything a game needs travels over the local Wi-Fi between the players' devices; one of them runs the game.
What the app processes, and why
- Location (precise): during a game, your position is sent over the local Wi-Fi to the game (running in the app on the host's phone or tablet) and to your team mates, for the game map, zones and markers. Opposing teams never receive it. It is not stored after the game.
- Player name and avatar photo: the name you choose and, if you take one, a selfie as avatar are shown to the other players of a game. The photo is kept only inside the app.
- Microphone: only while you hold the talk button (in the app or on the blaster), your voice is sent over the local Wi-Fi to your team or the lobby. It is not recorded or stored.
- Camera: for scanning game cards (QR codes) and for the avatar selfie. Scanner images are not stored.
- Bluetooth: to connect to your blaster. Bluetooth scanning is not used to determine your location.
- Game statistics (hits, kills, results) are stored on the devices of the game's players. You can share them yourself using the export function.
Map tiles
To show street maps, the app loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). In doing so, your IP address and the requested map area are transmitted to OpenFreeMap. Maps that have been downloaded are then used offline. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Legal basis
Processing takes place to provide the game you use (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR) and, for camera, microphone and location, on the basis of the permissions you grant in Android, which you can withdraw at any time in the system settings (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).
Deleting your data
All data stays on the devices. Uninstalling the app or using "Clear data" in the Android settings deletes it. As the developer receives no data, there is nothing stored elsewhere to delete.
Your rights
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Children
NovaCoil is not directed at children under 13.

Kurz gesagt
NovaCoil ist eine Spiele-App für Recoil-kompatible Spielzeug-Blaster. Sie hat keine Nutzerkonten, zeigt keine Werbung und enthält keine Analyse- oder Tracking-Dienste. Der Entwickler erhält keine Daten aus der App. Alles, was ein Spiel braucht, läuft über das lokale WLAN zwischen den Geräten der Spieler; eines davon leitet das Spiel.
Was die App verarbeitet und wozu
- Standort (genau): Während eines Spiels geht deine Position über das lokale WLAN an das Spiel (die App auf dem Handy oder Tablet des Gastgebers) und an dein Team – für Spielkarte, Zonen und Marker. Gegnerische Teams erhalten sie nie. Nach dem Spiel wird sie nicht gespeichert.
- Spielername und Avatarfoto: Der Name, den du wählst, und – falls du eins aufnimmst – ein Selfie als Avatar werden den anderen Spielern eines Spiels angezeigt. Das Foto bleibt nur in der App.
- Mikrofon: Nur solange du die Sprechtaste hältst (in der App oder am Blaster), geht deine Stimme über das lokale WLAN an dein Team oder die Lobby. Sie wird nicht aufgezeichnet oder gespeichert.
- Kamera: zum Scannen von Spielkarten (QR-Codes) und für das Avatar-Selfie. Bilder des Scanners werden nicht gespeichert.
- Bluetooth: zur Verbindung mit deinem Blaster. Die Bluetooth-Suche wird nicht zur Standortbestimmung genutzt.
- Spielstatistiken (Treffer, Abschüsse, Ergebnisse) werden auf den Geräten der Spieler gespeichert. Du kannst sie selbst über die Export-Funktion teilen.
Kartenkacheln
Für Straßenkarten lädt die App Kartenkacheln von OpenFreeMap (openfreemap.org). Dabei werden deine IP-Adresse und der angefragte Kartenausschnitt an OpenFreeMap übermittelt. Heruntergeladene Karten werden danach offline genutzt. Kartendaten © OpenStreetMap-Mitwirkende.
Rechtsgrundlage
Die Verarbeitung erfolgt zur Bereitstellung des von dir genutzten Spiels (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO) und für Kamera, Mikrofon und Standort auf Grundlage der Berechtigungen, die du in Android erteilst und jederzeit in den Systemeinstellungen widerrufen kannst (Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO).
Löschen deiner Daten
Alle Daten bleiben auf den Geräten. Deinstallieren der App oder „Daten löschen“ in den Android-Einstellungen entfernt sie. Da der Entwickler keine Daten erhält, ist anderswo nichts gespeichert.
Deine Rechte
Du hast das Recht auf Auskunft, Berichtigung, Löschung, Einschränkung der Verarbeitung, Datenübertragbarkeit und Widerspruch sowie das Recht auf Beschwerde bei einer Datenschutz-Aufsichtsbehörde.
Kinder
NovaCoil richtet sich nicht an Kinder unter 13 Jahren.
